Hamilton Lodge is a comfortable family hotel on the Belalp, a car-free mountain area in a UNESCO World Heritage site at an altitude of 2,100 metres.
A 40-minute walk will take you to the Aletsch Glacier, with a view of the Matterhorn. Hamilton Lodge itself offers spectacular views of Switzerland’s highest mountains. From the viewpoint on the Sparrhorn, accessible on foot and partly by chairlift, you can see the famous peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
After an exhilarating day of activity you can unwind at the spa, gazing at the mountain view from the Finnish sauna, or relaxing in a hot tub filled with water from the glacier. In winter, you’ll find pistes (from an altitude of up to 3,800 metres) and a ski school on your doorstep. And in summer you can hike magnificent walking trails through the landscape of Heidi.
This hip-Heidi hideaway is elegant and tasteful, with charming rooms and comfortable boxspring beds, a restaurant serving regional dishes, a lounge with a log fire, a sunny terrace and, nearby, a mountain stream, a cheese dairy, and cows and goats grazing in the pasture.
