Gasthof Zufriedenheit in Naumburg, with its grand baroque townhouses, is beautifully located in the south of Saxony-Anhalt. Artist Max Klinger described this area as ‘the Tuscany of the north’, with its vineyards in the chalky soils of the limestone hills.
QL was one of the lucky few to wine, dine and sleep in this new gem before it opens its doors for guests. Gasthof Zufriedenheit houses 17 guest rooms, a great courtyard, an excellent restaurant and is surrounded by many extraordinary VDP-vineyards.
The near 1,000 year old town of Naumburg has many points of interest such as the world-famous Naumburg Catherdral, where we enjoyed an aperitif and got to know more about the fascinating structure and history of the cathedral. In the St. Wenzel's Church we were treated to a beautiful concert at the famous Hildebrandt organ on which Johann Sebastian Bach used to play.

In the evening, Chef Robert Klaus prepared a wonderful dinner. The pre-opening festivities were concluded the following day with an extensive breakfast and a wine tasting at one of the surrounding vineyards in the Saale-Unstrut region. Everything was organized perfectly, for which we would like to thank Britta Scheffel and Markus Otto Graf.
