Klein Zwitserland (little Switzerland) is the name of the hilly region where the little river the Gulp flows into Southern Limburg from Belgium. The hotel lies in the centre middle of this beautiful region rich in woodlands and meadows and offers breathta- king views over the surrounding hills, also known as the ‘garden of Maastricht’. Klein Zwitserland is a small-scale family hotel with the perfect balance of hospitality, comfort and gastronomic delights. The stylish contemporary interior will quickly make you feel at home. Chef André Steinschuld’s team create original, international dishes. Most of the produce used is organic and originate from specialised regional suppliers. The extensive wine list (drawn up by hostess Diana) lists various wines originating from Limburg.

Chef André Steinschuld and his kitchen brigade create original dishes with an international twist. Chef and his team source local, preferably organic produce from specialised regional growers and producers. The menu changes with the seasons and offers classic and contemporary dishes Every day Chef creates a new 4-course menu. Everything, apart from the chocolates, is home-made. Your wishes concerning your diet, whether vegetarian, lactose free or gluten free, are no problem at all for the kitchen team.
The extensive wine list, including regional wines, is under the care of wine-steward Diana Steinschuld-Huls. She offers accompanying wines to the daily changing menu.
The restaurant is opened daily from 12.00h until 16.00h, and from 18.00h until 20.00h.
The colourful garden forms a natural transition to the undulating landscape surrounding the hotel. In the garden a lovely ornamental pond and colourful flower beds create an oasis of tranquillity. The garden is not accessible to ensure complete privacy for the adjacent Garden Rooms and Family Wellness Suites.
From the spacious terrace with its comfortable chairs you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and the Gulp valley while savouring delightful snacks and titbits.
Slenaken is located in “Maastricht’s Garden”. The Gulp region is very picturesque with hills and valleys, quaint country roads, babbling brooks, water mills, castles, timber frame houses, Spas and golf courses. Plenty of walking trails and bicycle routes are available for the active tourist. The ever changing views are stunning. Slenaken, a village with a little over 400 inhabitants, is surrounded by several small hamlets. In the village the beautiful 18th century church is certainly worth visiting. Slenaken is centrally located in the triangle Maastricht, Aachen and Liege. The cities are within 20 km from the hotel and well within reach.
