Culinary enjoyment, hospitality and comfort

This idyllic hotel is small but perfect. The meticulously restored 18th century townhouse is delightful, both inside and out. Die Mühlenhelle boasts 2 wonderful restaurants. Die Mühlenhelle’s large restaurant offers an inspiring cuisine using seasonal produce. Chef Michael Quendler has not forgotten his Austrian roots. By combining elements from French haute cuisine he creates modern, Pan-European dishes that tickle the palate.

Die Mühlenhelle’s second restaurant, Bistro, offers uncomplicated, classic dishes. Mrs. Birgitta Quendler is a passionate sommelier and the driving force behind the enoteca, where you can enjoy a good glass of wine before and after dinner.

The comfortable luxury rooms at Die Mühlenhelle have crisp interiors and are well appointed, just like the rest of the hotel. Gummersbach’s surroundings are idyllic and include scenic reservoirs. The cultural and shopping city of Cologne is within easy reach.

The Mühlenhelle’s Michelin Star restaurant offers an inspiring cuisine. The Chef sources mainly seasonal produce. Chef and owner Michael Quendler has Austrian roots which show in his German style of cooking. Together with elements from the French haute cuisine, the Chef has developed a truly inspiring menu that combines classical cuisine with contemporary taste. His wife and sommelier Birgitta Quendler will be delighted to find the right wine to accompany the superb dishes.

The Bistro’s menu is also testimony to Michael Quendler’s Austrian roots. The cuisine is honest and uncomplicated with classic dishes such as the Wiener Schnitzel or Kaiserschmarren, which are created with an individual twist without losing their heritage.
